Clarksville, TN – (CLARKSVILLENOW) CDE Lightband, the municipal power and broadband provider in the city of Clarksville, announced in February to all of the video customers an increase of $5 on video services and packages. The announcement was provided to approxiamately 6,000 customers in their February billing statement for the planned changes effective March 1.
The changes to the rates are to cover increased costs from programming channels that CDE Lightband carries on the video packages. Other changes include $1 increases to HBO, Showtime/TMc and Cinemax premium subscription channels.
“Annual increases in programming require that we increase the amounts we charge our customers to ensure that we can keep providing the diverse listing of channels our customers enjoy,” stated Christy Batts, Broadband Division Manager with CDE Lightband. “This increase represents a 7% increase in our services and the increases passed to us by the programmers range from 7 – 10%,” continued Mrs. Batts.
Additionally, on March 1 customers of CDE Lightband Internet will see their bandwidth increased to new speeds of five times faster than the current speed. The new speeds will be incorporated into all of the services and packages that CDE Lightband offers to new customers as well. CDE Lightband’s infrastructure includes 1,200 miles of fiber and connects more than 64,000 homes and business with fiber to the building. CDE Lightband serves nearly 19,000 customers with their fiber delivered video, Internet and phone services.
