CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Dunbar Cave State Park will have a variety of programs and activities this weekend, June 9 and 10.
Saturday and Sunday at the park will begin with an 8:30 morning guided hike. After the hike there will be two programs discussing snakes and animal tracks at 10 a.m. and noon respectfully. The afternoon will end with a pond walk.
Sunday programs include discussion on decomposition and natural journals. There will be another hike on Sunday beginning at noon.
Other events at the cave this weekend include Yoga at the Cave and Unknown Realms. Yoga at the Cave is an event where adults and children, over the age of 10, can practice and enjoy the tranquil setting of the cool cave and the area’s wildlife all while flowing, stretching, and breathing in a yoga sequence. Tickets are $10 per person.
Unknown Realms is an extended journey into the depths of the cave. Participants will travel off the normal tour route and explore some of the more remote areas of the cave. No crawling is required but some passages are tight and ceiling heights are low so participants may get muddy. Flashlights (no cell phones or headlamps) and sturdy shoes or boots are required. The cost is $20.00 per person.
