
The Clarksville Black History Month Committee held its annual closing of Black History Month ceremony on Thursday at First Missionary Baptist Church.

After being deferred a month ago, a proposed zone change for around 3 acres of land, which would have made way for a 5-story apartment building downtown Clarksville, returned to City Council chambers where it was voted down 4-8.

Plans to replace the Big Lots that was going out of business on Riverside Drive got complicated Thursday afternoon with surprise word that a company that is purchasing hundreds of Big Lots stores nationwide is also buying the Clarksville location.
