Janiya Johnson, a sophomore wrestler at Kirkwood High School, traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the Who’s Number One (WNO) Wrestling competition between the top wrestlers of each weight class in the nation. Johnson faced Sarah Pulk, and after wrapping up her opponent with a single leg lace, Johnson flexed and smiled as a WNO Champion, defeating her 10-0.

The West Creek Coyotes hosted the Northwest Vikings for homecoming in a rivalry football matchup on Saturday.

The Montgomery Central Indians hosted the Whites Creek Cobras for a homecoming region matchup on Friday and won 8-0.

The Kirkwood Cobras took a short trip down Rossview Road to Rossview High for a muddy and defense-heavy rivalry and region matchup with the Hawks.

Three Clarksville-area football teams have had their respective matchups moved to Thursday night, including Clarksville High, Rossview High and Kirkwood High School.

The Montgomery Central Indians took a trip to Clarksville High School as the Wildcats volleyball team celebrated senior night on Monday, Sept. 23. While Montgomery Central gave Clarksville High fits, the Wildcats won in straight sets, 3-0.
