The Rossview Hawks took a trip to “The Castle” at Kenwood High School for a matchup with the Knights.

Rossview High junior forward Ellie Hankenmeier has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her dominant play over the week of Dec. 2.

Following the retirement of Todd Hood last week, Rossview High Athletics announced today the promotion of Stratie Young, who will take over as the Hawks’ head football coach moving forward.

The Northwest Lady Vikings traveled to Exit 8 for a matchup with the Kirkwood High Cobras on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Thanks to an aggressive defensive gameplan and 11 points from Grace Fuuau, Northwest was able to come away with a 37-22 road victory. 

The Northwest Vikings traveled to “The Pit” at Kirkwood High School for a matchup with the Cobras on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Last year, the Vikings beat Kirkwood by 2 points at the final buzzer. This year, Kirkwood got their revenge, winning 61-38, powered by a 31-point performance from Armani Smith.

The Lady Eagles hosted the West Creek Coyotes in a rivalry matchup at Northeast High on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Led by a 27-point performance from Qimara Summers, Northeast earned their first win of the year by a total of 45-30.

The West Creek Coyotes traveled to the Eagles Nest at Northeast High on Monday, Dec. 9, for a back and forth, physical battle which resulted in the Coyotes pulling out a 63-47 victory. 

Zavion Williams is a Clarksville basketball legend. He helped lead the West Creek High boys’ basketball program to their first and only state tournament appearance in school history back in 2011, then suited up for the APSU Governors and legendary coach Dave Loos in college. Now, he’s arguably doing something with an even bigger impact as an assistant coach at Kirkwood High.
