The Kirkwood High boys’ basketball team met up with the Dickson County Cougars at Springfield High School for the region 7-4A championship game on Friday night, with the right to host a sectional game on Monday on the line.

Kirkwood High Softball Pitcher Maddie Ratcliff threw the first no-hitter in Cobras softball program history in the season opener, defeating Jo Byrns High School on Thursday night, 12-0.

The Clarksville Lady Wildcats and Henry County Patriots met up at Springfield High School for the Region 7-4A championship, with the winner hosting a sectional game on Saturday, and the loser traveling to Bartlett. A physical, gritty contest had everything you could ask for: lead changes, controversial calls, and, to end it all, Malon Smith sank two free throws with a second remaining to give the Wildcats a 35-33 win and their third consecutive region championship.

The Stewart County girls’ basketball team are playing for a chance for their first region championship in school history on Wednesday night under longtime head coach and Clarksville native Gilbert Harper.

Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Commissioner Jeff Bacon announced Wednesday a multi-year agreement to bring the ASUN Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments to Jacksonville, Fla., starting in 2026.

The remainder of the region 7-4A basketball tournament has been rescheduled due to heavy rain in the forecast tonight, and school districts are not allowing their teams to travel. All games have been pushed back one day.
