This spring sports’ season has been one for the books, as Clarksville has several state-ranked teams, and some postseasons are already starting to take shape. Let’s take a look at some storylines in each spring sport.

The Kirkwood Cobras baseball team traveled to Northeast High School for a district matchup with the Eagles on Saturday.

The West Creek High boys’ soccer team traveled to Rossview High school for a cross-town matchup with the Hawks. While both teams had their chances, the defense held firm on both sides, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Chapel Hill Lions traveled across the river to Montgomery Central High School for a flag football matchup with the Indians. While the Lions battled and made timely stops, the Indians early scoring was too much to overcome, and Central earned a 28-0 win to celebrate senior night.

Clarksville Academy announced the promotion of three interim staff members at a press conference on Thursday, April 10.

Montgomery Central sophomore Pitcher Kaleb Cilk has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Indians’ win over Fairview on April 1. Cilk threw a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts.

The Clarksville High Wildcats softball team traveled across Warfield Boulevard for a rivalry matchup at Rossview High on Monday.

Kirkwood High freshman outfielder Kiara Conley has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her performance in the Cobras games during the week of March 31. Conley had an .800 batting average over the week, collecting 12 hits.
