On Monday, April 15, the Clarksville High Wildcats hosted the Rossview High Hawks for a rivalry matchup between two teams currently ranked in the top 5 in the state of Tennessee.

Before his arrival at Freed Hardeman University, JJ Wheat was known as a winner at Clarksville High School. Now, it seems as though his success has transitioned to the next level of play.

On Friday, April 12, the Northwest High Vikings traveled to Clarksville High for a regional matchup with the Wildcats. While CHS won the game, both teams came together to honor former Vikings softball coach Blake Lyons, who is currently fighting his own battle with cancer.

Clarksville High two-way player Charis Nichols has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week for winning four games on the mound and batting .480 at the plate, which included blasting a grand slam.

West Creek’s Mariana Bowen and Northwest’s Sally Johnson took 4th place in the NHSCA Wrestling Nationals in Virginia Beach.

In 2021, the Tennessee Titans introduced an initiative to bring girls’ flag football to Middle Tennessee. Now, girls flag football will officially become a sanctioned Tennessee high school varsity sport, which is set to begin during the 2024-25 school year. 

Kirkwood High baseball collided with the Northeast High Eagles for the first-ever matchup between the two programs on Monday, April 8. While Northeast High battled throughout the matchup, the Cobras pitching rotation dominated and led Kirkwood to a 5-1 district win.

The Rossview High Hawks made a trip to Northeast High School for a district 13-4A matchup with the Eagles. While Northeast High jumped out to an early lead in the game, Rossview High’s offensive firepower took over the game as they won by a score of 22-6.
