We’re now in the thick of the 2024-25 high school football season after four weeks of play. Several teams have surprised, some have pulled off major upsets, and some haven’t lost a game yet. Let’s take a look at the matchups in the Clarksville-Area on Friday, Sept. 20.
The Montgomery County Rangers played their first game and GNASH season opener on Sept. 16 at the Ford Ice Center in Bellevue against the Brentwood Academy Bruins.
Clarksville Christian School announced on Wednesday, Sept. 17, that sophomore student-athlete Lauren Hassell has been selected to join the Jr. WNBA Court of Leaders, which is a developmental program for high school athletes across the nation.
The Rossview Hawks traveled to exit one for a district matchup with the Eagles at Northeast High. While the game was close through one half, the Hawks exploded in the second half, scoring four goals in a span of ten minutes to pull away, and earning a 7-0 victory.
Fort Campbell quarterback and defensive back Jacaryous Perryman has been named Clarksville Now’s Player of the Week for his performance in the Falcons’ upset of Madisonville-North.
The Beech Buccanears volleyball team traveled to exit 8 for a matchup with the Cobras at Kirkwood high school. While Kirkwood l battled Beech won in straight sets, 3-0.
The Hopkinsville Tigers, coming off a huge rivalry victory against Christian County, visited Hilda J. Richardson field for a matchup with the undefeated Wildcats at Clarksville High School.
The West Creek Coyotes traveled to the Castle at Kenwood High School for a rivalry showdown, the battle of Peachers Mill, with the Knights. A low scoring, messy defensive battle, where turnovers ended up being the difference, and the Coyotes would collect the win after a late second half touchdown, 13-6.
