Coverage of Clarksville-area high school sports teams.

The Kirkwood Lady Cobras hosted the Kenwood Knights at Kirkwood High School for the final night of the regular season on Friday. The two teams were battling early, but a 15-1 run in the third quarter for the Cobras allowed them to pull away, and Kirkwood earned a 46-25 win.

The Richview Middle School Cowboys traveled to Stewarts Creek High School for the TMSAA final four, and a matchup with the Bearden Bulldogs. Bearden led for two and a half quarters, but a late 13-0 run powered the Cowboys to a 46-38 win and the right to play for a state championship tomorrow at 1:30 at Rockvale High School.

The Northeast Lady Eagles hosted the Northwest Vikings for their senior night and a cross-town rivalry. The Vikings built a lead early, and lead from start to finish, earning a 68-28 victory, lead by 18 points from Ja’laysia Hunt.

The Northeast Eagles hosted the Northwest Vikings for an inner-city matchup and senior night for Northeast. The two teams traded blows back and forth, but the Vikings scored down the stretch, securing a 50-44 win.

Kenwood High Senior Forward Zy’Kerion Hinton has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Knights undefeated week, picking up two wins against cross-town rivals Northwest HIgh and Northeast High.

The Clarksville Academy Cougars hosted the Nashville Christian Eagles on Wednesday for the Division II-A Middle District quarterfinals and a win-or-go-home matchup.

The Montgomery Central Indians hosted the Jo Byrns Red Devils for a Tuesday night matchup. A low scoring, back and forth game gave the Indians to final shots in the final seconds of the game to take the lead, however, they both went in and out as Montgomery Central fell 38-37.
