The State General and City Election was held today, and polls closed at 7 p.m. Here are the local results in City Council races, state House and state Senate races, Congressional races and the presidential election.

Voters in Montgomery County kept the polls going smooth and steady all day Thursday, ahead of the end-of-work rush before polls close at 7 p.m.

Adding in nursing home and mailed-in ballots, 50,393 Montgomery County voters cast their ballots in 10 days of early voting, compared to 49,509 in 2020, when Joe Biden beat Donald Trump.

The pace of early voting has picked up in the last week in Montgomery County, with over 3,200 people a day casting ballots.

Democratic candidates for state House and Senate seats spoke on their legislative initiatives as part of their “Cost-Cutting Caravan” tour stop in Clarksville.

Turnout has been strong in early voting in Montgomery County, with the number of ballots cast already surpassing the totals for the last two elections.

Early voting began Wednesday to a packed parking lot and long lines in Clarksville. The line at one point stretched from the Montgomery County Election Commission Office out the door all the way to the corner courtyard.
