Local leaders late Wednesday afternoon issued an open letter to the community urging residents who aren’t vaccinated to reconsider.

The deadline is still unclear on when personnel are required to get their shot, however, the memo asked secretaries of the military to impose “ambitious timelines for implementation.”

This comes as cases nearly doubled in one week at the end of July, and since July 13, have skyrocketed from 81 to now past 1,000.
