With another weekend of Ohio Valley Conference basketball in the Dunn Center on the horizon, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball is set for a 5:30 p.m., Thursday contest with SIU Edwardsville, in a matchup that pits the OVC’s best and worst three-point shooting teams against one another.

Austin Peay State University’s football team has accepted an invitation to play in the 2020 Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff. The Governors will face Central Arkansas in the Saturday, Aug. 29 event at the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.

After dropping the regular-season opener, Austin Peay State Univesity women’s tennis got back on track with a pair of wins in the Natural State, beating Central Arkansas, 4-3, on Friday, before turning around and dispatching Southern Arkansas, 7-0, Saturday.

With 1.4 seconds left to play Austin Peay State University women’s basketball had the ball and a chance to knock off Belmont, but the Governors were unable to get a shot off, falling just short, 53-52, Saturday in the Dunn Center.

An in-state battle against one of the Ohio Valley Conference’s top programs in recent years is on deck for Austin Peay State University women’s basketball, when they host a 1:30 p.m., Saturday, matchup with Belmont in the Dunn Center in a game that will have a vast impact on the OVC regular-season race.

Returning to the Dunn Center after a four-game road trip, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball forced Tennessee State to turn the ball over 30 times; while the Governors knocked down 11 three-pointers, rolling to an 18-point, 76-58 victory and their first Ohio Valley Conference win at home this season.
