After a slow start to the spring season, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis has posted back-to-back wins, after sweeping Cumberland, 7-0, Tuesday at the Governors Tennis Center.

Austin Peay State University and the University of Cincinnati have mutually agreed to move the date of their Week 1 contest.

After picking up their first, win of the season last time out, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis will look to grab another pair of wins when they host a match at noon on Tuesday against Cumberland and a match on Saturday at 2 p.m. against North Alabama at the Governors Tennis Center.

Shortstop Bobby Head’s two-run home run in the fifth inning put Austin Peay State University’s baseball team out front for good in a convincing 13-6 victory against Eastern Michigan, Sunday, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Outfielder TJ Foreman delivered a pinch-hit two-run single and closer Austin Carder picked up his season’s first save as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team battled to win the nightcap of a season-opening doubleheader against Eastern Michigan, Saturday, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Three-pointers and forced turnovers, that has been the recipe for success this season for Austin Peay State University women’s basketball, and it was once again; as the Governors connected 12 times from three-point range and forced 27 Eastern Kentucky turnovers en route to a 69-53 win, Saturday in the Dunn Center.

The beat goes on for the Austin Peay State University women’s tennis, as the Governors picked up their seventh-straight win, dispatching Carson-Newman, 6-1, Friday at the Governors Tennis Center.  

It came down to the wire, as Austin Peay State Univesity men’s tennis was tied 3-3, before junior Jacob Lorino picked up a decisive win in the final match of the day to get the Govs in the win column for the first time this season, as they beat Carson-Newman, 4-3, Friday at the Governors Tennis Center.
