Carolyn Wilkes Powell, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the age of 96.
Carolyn was born on December 15, 1927, to the late John Warner Wilkes and Bessie Rutledge Wilkes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Paul Powell, sister Irene Wilkes Wiles, brother John William Wilkes.
She is survived by her son Richard (Suzy), daughter Thelma (Johnny) Minchey; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Hollie) Minchey, Megan (Adam) Wilson, Eric Minchey; two great grandchildren, Cora Wilson and Colton Minchey, and numerous cousins.
She retired as a nurse at Vanderbilt. She was a member of Neely’s Bend Church of Christ.
