Carolyn Ellen Mayhew Winn Jackson, age 98, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare.

Carolyn was born May 10, 1918, in Nashville, TN, to the late Charles Paul Mayhew, Sr. and Lucie Cage Mayhew. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Thomas Winn; two brothers, Charles Paul Mayhew, Jr. and Thomas Cage Mayhew; sister, Nancy Jean Mayhew; and great granddaughter, Cara Roman.

Mrs. Jackson was an active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, taught Sunday School, and participated in the Women’s Ministry at both local and regional levels. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Prayers & Squares Quilting Group. Carolyn loved children and recently organized the Sunbeam Girls. She worked for the Civil Service as a budget analyst and retired after more than 30 years of service.

Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 20, at 1:00 PM, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Steve Louder, Rev. E.G. Simms, Rev. Jeff Stovall, and Rev. John Routzahn officiating. Entombment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Wednesday, July 20, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the church.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Charles Franklin Jackson; three sons, William Donald (Lana Jo) Winn, Michael Hewitt (Shirley) Winn, and Patrick Steven (Veronica) Winn; fifteen grandchildren, Cindi Winn (David) Shepherd, Teresa Winn (Gary) Ferguson, Dawn Winn (Billy) Wall, Chad (Raeann) Winn, Timothy Winn, Christopher Winn, Steven (Stephanie) Winn, Jessica Winn, Patricia (George) Pace, Paula Winn, Melissa (Kyle) Pula, Matthew Winn, Nicholas Winn, Gillian Austin, and Grant Austin; and twelve great grandchildren, Joshua Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, Jaden Wall, Hayden Winn, Emma Winn, DeLyla Winn, Meagan Winn, Alex Winn, Carly Winn, Claire Pace, Henry Pula, and August Pula.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Winn, Christopher Winn, Steven Winn, Chad Winn, Matthew Winn, Nicholas Winn, Gary Ferguson, Billy Wall, David Shepherd, and Grant Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
