CLARKSVILLE, TN – Montgomery County Historian Carolyn Stier Ferrell was given the Community Service Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution April 16 for her lengthy service to the community through her books, her videos, and her walking tours of downtown Clarksville, Dog Hill, Greenwood Cemetery and Riverview Cemetery.

She continues to speak to local organizations, to home schooled students, and to residents of nursing homes. Her efforts are given to the Arts and Heritage Council, the Board of Directors of Greenwood Cemetery and the Historical Society, among others. The award was presented by Jan Thompson of the DAR.
