CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A car crashed through Caddy’s Discount Liquors in Clarksville Wednesday afternoon after a driver suffered a medical crisis.

Scott Beaubien, spokesperson for the Clarksville Police Department, told Clarksville Now the elderly driver of the vehicle suffered a medical crisis, and was transported to the hospital after the incident.

In addition to CPD, the Clarksville Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene Wednesday afternoon.

The passenger of the vehicle was also transported to the hospital as a precaution, Beaubien said.

Beaubien added that no one was injured inside the store when the car struck the liquor store, located at 1960 Madison Street.

One customer, Kimberly Bornstein, was inside Caddy’s checking out at the time the car drove through the front windows.

“I was just in the store picking up some stuff for my girlfriend and I, and I was sitting there talking to the cash register lady asking her some questions,” Bornstein told Clarksville Now at the scene.

“She was showing me some things, she was proceeding to cash me out and all of the sudden she screamed and next thing we knew, there’s just this car that came plowing through the front (of the store),” Bornstein continued.

“It was like everything happened in slow motion,” Bornstein said.

A representative for Caddy’s Discount Liquors was not immediately available for comment.
