DOVER, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Camp Rainbow is in full swing at Brandon Spring in Land Between the Lakes, and the kids spent Wednesday enjoying the pool.

The camp, which grew out of the Dream Factory in Clarksville, has been going on since 1983, providing kids with medical needs a fully supported summer camp experience. It is held each year at Brandon Springs Group Camp at Land Between the Lakes. The camp is free for children and their families and relies on donations and support from businesses, individuals and volunteers.

Each of the kids, or campers as they are called, are partnered with a volunteer counselor for the week. The youngsters are also under the watchful eye of medical personnel from Premier Medical Group and Vanderbilt University Medical Center 24 hours a day.

The week features a long list of activities for youngsters including swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, fishing, a carnival, inflatables and a visit from Bikers Who Care.
