CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Despite having to reschedule due to weather, The Clarksville Area Ministerial Association CAMA held their annual Prayer Breakfast at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Clarksville on Tuesday, November 19.
The event brought local and state leaders together with Clarksville’s faith community for a morning of discussion and support. Attendees at this year’s event included Members of Clarksville City Council, County Mayor Jim Durrett and State Representative Jason Hodges.
According to CAMA Secretary Bill Graham, approximately 15 churches were represented at this year’s breakfast.
“I think [the breakfast] makes our community stronger. We’re all spending some time together. We’re praying together, and it’s a bipartisan event where all the community leaders come together and get to pray together,” said Jason Hodges “Anytime you can bring all the leaders together for a good cause and unite them more, that’s always a positive.”
The Clarksville Area Ministerial Association is a group of local faith leaders from churches of various denominations who meet to offer support to the community and one another through a series of annual events including the Prayer Breakfast, community-wide meetings, holiday events and more.
“In Clarksville, our official leaders, we bring them together and let them know that the clergy is aware of what they are doing and we want to pray over them and [they] have the guidance so that they can do their job more effectively from a spiritual standpoint,” said CAMA President Anthony Alfred.
