Calming boxes with hand puppets donated to local law enforcement

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Immaculate Conception Church’s knitting group “The KnitWits” donated several calming boxes to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Clarksville Police Department.

Coordinated by Sandra Brandon, public information officer for MCSO, the event was held at the Clarksville City Police Department.

In attendance were Carol-Cardillo Nichols, puppet maker, Claire LaPointe, KnitWits chairperson, and various officers from both departments.

These boxes are for use with home calls where there may be a child experiencing distress. The boxes contain hand-made puppetts, crayons, cheese crackers and other colorful surprises. Nichols spent the COVID year knitting all the puppets.
