CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) wants the public to be aware of a recent scam involving donations.
According to CPD, the caller claims to be soliciting donations for the department, which is untrue.
Police said the caller, who uses the number 931-386*3940, is insistent and tries to pressure the individual into a donation.
Officials also said the number belongs to the American Police Alliance, an organization known for scams.
The public is warned not to give out sensitive information over the phone to an unknown party.
