CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) announced Wednesday, August 14 that VK Integrated Systems will move their headquarters as well as research and development operations from Fullerton, Calif. to Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tenn.

VK Integrated Systems chose Clarksville-Montgomery County as their new location for research, development and manufacturing due not only to the community’s strategic location but also a successful, decades long relationship with Fort Campbell.

“Through our partnership with the Campbell Strong Defense Alliance, we were introduced to the team from VK Integrated Systems and then began the conversation on how Clarksville-Montgomery County could better facilitate their needs,” said Frank Tate, Executive Director of the IDB. “It is part of the IDB’s long-term strategy to target tech and professional companies that are currently located in higher tax burden states and begin discussions with them on how relocating to a business-friendly state, such as Tennessee, is a win-win for everyone.”

The company’s full transition from California to Tennessee will move forward over the next 12-18 months. Top-level executives will be relocating to the area as soon as September of this year. VK Integrated Systems has secured office space in Clarksville and will begin the process of constructing a building to their specifications in the near future.

The addition of VK Integrated Systems to the community is expected to create 25-50 high-paying jobs

“Our goal is to diversify our industrial park by continuing the pursuit of headquarters and research & development projects with higher than average wages,” said Jeff Truitt, CEO of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council. “Our strategic vision is to target our recruitment efforts to smaller companies with higher paying jobs while creating higher end office space in order to retain those professionals who travel outside of Montgomery County for work as well as attract new talent to our area.”

According to their site, “VK Integrated Systems is engaged in the research, development, and manufacture of hardware, software, and supporting architecture for use in hand-held weapon systems.”

Since 2014, VK has been manufacturing, assembling, programming, firing and delivering data from rifles with custom integrated electronics.

“We have been impressed with the community and all the valuable assets they will bring to the table that will help continue our success,” said Vasilios K. Kapogianis, President & CEO, VK Integrated Systems. “We know this is just the beginning of a long-lasting professional partnership and we are excited to see the growth of VK Integrated Systems in Clarksville-Montgomery County.”
