CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Caitlin Castle-Swaffer has announced she will be running in the March 5 Republican Primary for Montgomery County Assessor of Property.
“I am a proud conservative Republican who strongly believes in the principles of fiscal responsibility, transparency and honest governance,” Castle-Swaffer said.
She has spent most of her career in public service, serving as a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy, then in many roles at the Montgomery County Assessor of Property’s Office. She currently work at Freedom Title Services as a closer, specializing in remote online closings while also addressing mapping and title issues.
Castle-Swaffer serves as the second vice chair of the Red River Republican Women’s Club as well as chair of Agriculture in the Classroom for the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Women’s Group.
“The primary reason I am running to be your next Assessor of Property is to improve the experience of the public when they interact with the Assessor’s Office and to ensure the office more responsibly handles the taxpayers’ funds,” Castle-Swaffer said. “As your next Assessor of Property, I will make it my goal to improve the morale of the office and reduce employee turnover.
“I am a public servant, not a politician,” she said. “I worked in the Assessor’s Office from 2015 until leaving in 2021. During my time there, I saw the ways in which the office was run well and the ways in which it was not. As your Assessor of Property, I promise to make the office work for the people and to be a good steward of your tax dollars. I will never forget that I work for you, the citizens of Montgomery County.”
