CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Association for Down syndrome (CADs) returns with their eighth Annual Community CARES Walk and Expo this weekend, October 12, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
This annual event provides awareness of special citizens within the community and education for guests on health, safety and wellness. Proceeds from the event go towards supporting CADs’ causes in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
According to CADs, the event is “a perfect opportunity for local merchants, businesses and organizations to market their services to the community as well as the special needs population and their families.” Over 60 vendors are participating in the event and, last year, over 1,000 people came together to take part in the walk.
The event will begin with registration check-in at 8:30 a.m. The theme of this year’s event is All Star Sports. The event will include food, entertainment, activities and adaptive sports followed by the pledge walk around Liberty Park’s pond. The Walk and Expo will conclude at noon.
Anyone interested in registering for the walk, or contributing to CADs can do so here.
