CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – For the fifth year in a row the Bikers Who Care have partnered with the Clarksville Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to sponsor a holiday money giveaway.
The Bikers Who Care (BWC) are a community oriented organization with about 150 members. The group has been part of and sponsored many philanthropic activities in Clarksville but have often chosen to remain behind the scenes.
On December 14, at locations throughout the community, members of the BWC and law enforcement approached random strangers and presented them with a crisp $100 bill. The recipients were at first leery when approached, which evolved into shock, then elation with some breaking down into tears of joy.
On a couple of occasions, based on the initial reaction of the beneficiary of the $100 bill, they thought it was a prank or scam, but quickly came to the conclusion it was true act of kindness being afforded to them.
The BWC generously handed out $4,000 to total strangers in the spirit of the holidays.
Billy Hughes with the BWC said; “our organization wanted to give back to the community with random acts of kindness and to affect people’s lives in a positive way”.
