MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Broomball returns to the Downtown Commons for the third year as county officials prepare to face off. The community is invited to the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink to enjoy this year’s competition.
Fort Campbell’s Major General Winski will challenge the reigning champions, Montgomery County and Mayor Jim Durrett, for the third annual showdown on ice, January 15 at 6 p.m.
“Joining us this season is Clarksville Police Department and Clarksville Fire Rescue for a friendly competition of Guns VS. Hoses starting at 5 p.m. The 911 Dispatchers will try their hand in a short match between the two featured games,” said Paula Atkins, Event Planning Manager for Downtown Commons.
“If you have never seen grown men and women sliding around and falling on ice, you will not want to miss these games,” said Atkins. “The past two years have been so funny and adding the Guns VS. Hoses game is sure to make for a great night of laughter and competition.”
The ice rink will remain open through January 20, 2020. Regular operating hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Ice Skates are provided. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12, government employees, military, and APSU students.
Every Thursday tickets are only $5! Pond Hockey pick-up games, private ice, and birthday party rentals are also available. Visit Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink’s Facebook for additional details on Pond Hockey and other events.
