Clarksville, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – All over the world people are demanding justice and an end to a system of racism and injustice.

Clarksvillians are no different as we come together in solidarity after the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota to answer the question, “Where do we go from here?”

The event, dubbed, ‘Breathe Clarksville’, will be held Saturday, June 6th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Plaza, 350 Pageant Lane, Clarksville.

Community leaders and organizers will offer opportunities to be heard and information on how to affect necessary change.

Attendees will hear first-hand from those who live the Black American experience as well as experts who will discuss the disparities that exist in education, health care, the criminal justice system, and the business world.

“Whether you are unsure about getting involved or you have made an all-in commitment, show up to learn more about the goals and objectives of this movement to eliminate systemic racism and anti-Blackness,”  said Juanita Charles, event organizer. “Everyone has a role to play.”

A DJ will be on site to help  set the stage as listeners learn, engage, and evolve together.

Participants have the option to stay in their cars to social distance while still taking part in the event.

Masks are encouraged for all attendees.

The event is open to everyone in the community.
