CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT) is excited to share that they’re starting community discussions about opening a new club in Clarksville. Working with local leaders and residents, BGCMT is planning to open a new location in Clarksville in summer 2025.

To introduce themselves to the Clarksville community, BGCMT recently held a Code Academy for local students at Kenwood Middle School. This day camp gave about 100 kids, ages 8-18, hands-on experience in coding and app design.

To get more community input and show their commitment, BGCMT will host Town Hall meetings in Clarksville. The first meeting is tonight, Sept. 5, from 6-7 p.m. at the House of Praise Church, 592 Peachers Mill Road. Two more meetings are planned for Sept. 19 and Oct. 24, at the same time and location. These meetings will be a chance for residents to learn more about the new Clarksville club and share their thoughts and support.

Deidre Ward, a local leader and chairperson of the Task Force that helped make this expansion possible, shared her excitement. “I’m really looking forward to working with BGCMT. Our Task Force has worked hard to get us to this point, and I’m excited to see the new Clarksville Club benefit our community’s youth and families. Thank you to BGCMT and everyone in Clarksville who’s been involved.”
