CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – On Tuesday, March 6, the Cogioba District of the Middle Tennessee Council – Boy Scouts of America will honor the service and dedication of Mr. James T. Mann to the community at the 2018 Good Scout Event.

Jim is involved in numerous philanthropic and developmental efforts in his home community of Clarksville as well as in greater Tennessee. He has served the community for 24 years as a school board member, as well as serving as Chairman of the Board, working to bring Leadership Clarksville to life, and with his generous donation to establish the James T. Mann and Dorothy Mann Wall of Legacy in the APSU Department of Art+Design.

The keynote speaker will be Major General Andrew P. Poppas, Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. A native of Janesville, Wisconsin, MG Poppas graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree and was commissioned as an infantry officer in 1988. He holds a Master of Science Degree from Kansas State University, is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, the Hellenic War College in Thessaloniki, Greece and was a 2011 National Security Fellow at Harvard University.

The event will be held Tuesday, March 6 from 6:45-8 a.m. at William O. Beach Civic Hall at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 201.

The Cogioba District serves 1,500+ local Scout participants in Houston County, Stewart County, Montgomery County, and Fort Campbell, KY, teaching them citizenship, physical fitness, and leadership development. Contributions will go directly to support the programs of the Cogioba District, Boy Scouts of America.
