CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Zac Wagenmaker has been boxing on the amateur circuit for years now, but he looks to make his professional debut this Friday.

Wagenmaker graduated from Rossview High School in 2022, and he is currently enrolled at Austin Peay State University. His fighting career began when he took up the sport of martial arts. As time went on, he transitioned from martial arts to boxing.

His amateur boxing career began when he was around 16. Since then, Wagenmaker has competed in 31 fights and compiled a record of 26-5.

With his amateur boxing career coming to a close, he’s hoping for his first professional victory this weekend. The fight is being put on by Tri-Star Boxing, and fights will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Ole Smokey Distillery in downtown Nashville.

“I’m super confident going into the fight,” Wagenmaker told Clarksville Now. “I’ve been fighting for a long time, and I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t feel as nervous against my opponent. It’s just business as usual, another day at the office.

“The support has been insane, and I just want to say thank you to my supporters. I appreciate anyone who is coming out, especially because it’s an hour away. Most of the people that support me are from Clarksville or the surrounding areas, and they’re all driving out to Nashville, so I really couldn’t be more thankful. I hope I put on a show for everybody.”

Following his fight this weekend, Wagenmaker will look to fight one or two more times before the end of the year.
