CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center was filled with members of financial institutions Tuesday for the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville Bowl for Kid’s Sake Bankers Challenge.
Seven local banks and more than 30 bowling teams joined in the fundraiser, which brought in close to $28,000. A few banks were recognized for their outstanding support.
F&M Bank was recognized for raising the most, collecting more than $9,000. Fortera Credit Union had the largest single team. US Bank won second place, and their “Blue Skies Squad” won the early bird award for being the first to sign up a team online.
F&M Bank’s Sango Branch took the honor for Highest Fundraising team, gathering $3,000. Best team shirts went to the Legends Bank team of Split Personalities, and Cumberland Bank & Trust won for the biggest comeback/most improved team.
“Year after year this event has raised the bar by raising more to support youth facing adversity in our community,” Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Chris Buerck said. “The sponsorship dollars and the individual efforts continue to amaze our organization and we are so grateful the banking community is so eager to invest in our young people.”
Since 1975, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville has been matching disadvantaged children with adult mentors. More than 55 children are waiting to be enrolled and receive a mentor with the organization.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Community Bowl for Kid’s Sake is Sunday, April 24, from 1-3 p.m. at the Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center.
