If you’re looking for a job and can spare some time for a morning of bowling, head down to Skyline Lanes this Saturday, where Nyrstar employees will be thowing strikes and getting to know future co-workers.
Job applicants get a ticket to bowl a free game, with shoe rental covered, plus you could win door prizes, including a custom-drilled bowling ball from the Skyline Pro Shop.
“We’re doing this to give Nyrstar a place they can use to promote good, home-grown jobs, and if we get a few new bowlers that would be cool,” said Skyline owner Becky Diaz. “It’s going to be really fun.”
Nyrstar Clarksville – also known as “the zinc plant” – has over 20 openings for safety-minded employees for two types of jobs: Operators and Maintenance Techs.
Operators
Operators are paid at least – yes, at least – $18.64 an hour. That’s for Operator 1.
Operator 2 starts at $20.21, and Operator 3 at $21.88 an hour.
The heavy industrial Operators follow a 12-hour rotating swing schedule on a 28-day cycle.
Maintenance Technicians
Maintenance Technicians are paid from $22.09 an hour to $26.20 an hour, depending on their experience level.
There are also senior level Technician spots that pay over $28.
All of the current Technician openings are based on a Monday-Friday, eight-hour daytime schedule, with opportunities for overtime.
