CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A trial date has been set for the Clarksville mother charged with criminal homicide in the death of her 4-month-old daughter.

According to the arrest warrant for 25-year-old Sarah Danielle Scribner, a witness said she received a phone call from the mother, Sarah Danielle Scribner, saying she had “done something bad.”

The mother told the witness that she was trying to stop the child from crying by putting her hand over the child’s mouth and the child stopped breathing.

Clarksville police said officers responded to the home on the 200 block of Orleans Drive Saturday, April 28 around 11:41 p.m. and found the infant unresponsive and not breathing. CPD officers and EMS personnel performed CPR and the child was transported to Tennova Hospital.

The child failed to regain consciousness and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Scribner was charged with criminal homicide and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Her bond has been set at $500,000 and the trial will begin May 9, 2018.
