CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – Due to a water main break, residents on the east side of the CSX Railroad in Crofton experienced an interruption in water service Thursday, January 29 from approximately 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
As a result, the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority (HWEA) is required to issue a Boil Water Advisory for customers whose water service has been interrupted.
The work is complete and water service has been restored. HWEA will collect and test the water to ensure that it is safe for use. This testing period may require the Boil Water Advisory to remain in effect for a 24 – 48 hour period.
Until the Boil Water Advisory is lifted by HWEA, customers should boil their water for a minimum of two minutes, at a full rolling boil, before cooking or drinking.
