OAK GROVE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – UPDATE: The boil water advisory has been lifted as of Thursday at 10 a.m.

The City of Oak Grove Water Department shut down a portion of the water main on Good Hope Cemetery Road, Bumpus Mills Road, and Carneal Lane to repair a leak on October 4 at 2 p.m.

Homes and businesses will be without water for about 2 to 4 hours.

As a precautionary measure, the city has mandated a boil water advisory for all affected parties. This means water provided by the system during this period may cause adverse human health effects due to contamination if consumed, unless it is boiled for three minutes at a rolling boil.

Once water is restored and samples are approved by the state of Kentucky, the advisory will be lifted. This may take from 24 to 48 hours.
