OAK GROVE, Ky. – The City of Oak Grove Water Department shut down a portion of the water main on State Line Road/State Highway 400 from Mandarin Drive to Ft. Campbell Blvd Feb. 24 at noon.
Homes or businesses in this area will be without water for a period of 2 to 5 hours.
In addition, the City of Oak Grove, as a precautionary measure, will mandate a boil advisory for all affected parties.
A “boil advisory” means that the water provided by the system during the boil advisory period may cause adverse human health effects due to possible biological contamination if consumed, unless it is first boiled for three minutes at a rolling boil.
Once water service is restored and water samples are approved by the State of Kentucky, the boil advisory will be lifted. This process may take from 24 to 48 hours.
For questions or concerns, call the water office at (270) 439-5433.
