Blaine David Godfrey, age 64, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2020, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee.
Born October 3, 1956, in Conneaut, Ohio, Blaine is the son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Godfrey.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lori Brockett.
Blaine’s gift for music and proficiency as a trumpeter gave him an opportunity to lend his musical talent to the United States Army Band. He served in Desert Storm with the 101st Airborne Division before retiring as a Sergeant First Class with 22 years of service for his country.
He went on to work for the Montgomery County Sheriff Department and retired after 14 years of service.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Vivian Godfrey, two stepsons, Jack Weatherlow of Rocky Mount, VA, Riley Seth (Nacole) McCormick of Old Hickory TN., one nephew, Joe (McKenzie) Brockett of Rembert, SC.
Blaine treasured his family and friends and embraced every moment with them. The way he lived his life is a testimony of what a wonderful soul he was. We miss him more than words can express.
Because of Covid, a celebration of his life will be announced later in Spring.
