CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The National Weather Service has issued a special statement regarding black ice in Clarksville and Montgomery County.

As below-freezing temperatures persist through at least noon Friday, patchy ice may remain on roads. Some of this ice is a result of heavy rainfall, but some may be black ice, which is virtually transparent and occurs with little or no warning.

Drivers should exercise caution on the road, especially on bridges and overpasses.
