MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County Election Commission is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Black has been appointed as Administrator of Elections.

Black has most recently been serving as Communications Director/Public Information Officer for Montgomery County Government. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Business Administration from Murray State University. She has been working in county government since 2007.

“We had 21 outstanding applicants in response to the announcement of Vickie Koelman’s retirement. We studied the resumes, conducted interviews and it was a unanimous decision to appoint Elizabeth Black to be our new Administrator of Elections,” Rita Wilson, Chair, Montgomery County Election Commission said. “We felt she was the best fit for the position and believe she will do an amazing job for Montgomery County. The Commission and office staff are excited to move forward and start working with Elizabeth.”

Black said she is excited to join the Montgomery County Election Commission.

“I have worked closely with this department for many years and look forward to serving the citizens of Montgomery County in this new capacity,” she said.

Black assumes her new role on March 1.
