Billy Edward Winters, age 70, of Clarksville, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center, in Nashville. He was born in Robertson County, TN, to the late Raleigh Edward Winters and Beulah Ellis Winters. Billy was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Carlton Winters, Talmadge W. Winters, Wendell B. Winters, and Paul Milton Winters.

Mr. Winters was retired from the Trane Company, after 37 dedicated years. He was a member of First Christian Church and worked with the Second Harvest Food Drive. Billy was instrumental in forming Little League Baseball in St. Bethlehem. His favorite pastime was playing cards at J.P.’s and taking his faithful dog, Buddy, for rides and helping anyone in need.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Talmadge (Skip) Winters officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, January 25, and from noon until the hour of service Sunday, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be B.J. Neale, Paul Winters, Delmar Hayes, Larry Bryant, James Frye, and Burton Traylor.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Gloria N. Winters; two sons, Bill Winters, of Elizabethton, TN, and Jason Winters, of Clarksville; stepson, Robert Neale, of Clarksville; sister, Joyce (Gordon) Hawkins, of Clarksville; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, 331 Great Circle Road, Nashville, TN 37228.
