NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A bill aimed at creating a domestic abuse registry will be discussed Wednesday on Capitol Hill.
The registry would be similar to the already existing sex offender and animal abuse registries, according to WKRN News 2.
Anyone convicted of domestic abuse or violation of a protection or restraining order would be included.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation would list the offender’s name, date of birth, their offense and where they were convicted.
Another bill making the same movement would require any domestic abuse offenders to wear a GPS monitoring system as a condition of their bail.
