CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The newly relocated Domino’s “pizza theater” presented a check for $5,580.47 on Tuesday, May 21 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville. Domino’s hosted its grand opening celebration on May 16 at 594 Fire Station Road, Suite A, across from the new Publix with 100% of sales going to the non-profit organization.
Clarksville Domino’s franchise owner, Antonio Murgas, said the organization has a lot of presence in the community and many people came out for the grand opening to show their support for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“We feel it’s important to give back in any way possible. I know I would not be where I am today without the support and encouragement from the community,” said owner Antonio Murgas. “Any time we can pay it forward and highlight the people doing good here, we are going to take that opportunity and uplift others.”
Chris Buerck, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters commented on the grand opening, “We’re grateful to be included in fundraising opportunities like this where a local business wants to give back and just envelope us into the process that allows us too get our name out there as well as getting a financial contribution to the agency.”
Buerck added that they are trying to enroll more mentors for the summer and male volunteers are needed and this donation is a huge help to that effort to be able to recruit male volunteers into the program and match more children in Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters has great plans for the future and we depend on the generosity of the community in order to operate. This donation from Domino’s will help effect change in the lives of children,” said BBBS Executive Director Chris Buerck.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one-to-one mentoring programs to at-risk children in the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. BBBS pairs children facing adversity with adult mentors who meet with them consistently and regularly to form a supportive relationship that can boost self-esteem and result in higher aspirations in children.
