With support from the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville raised more than $52,000 for their annual Bowl for Kid's Sake.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Rock ‘n’ Bowl was this year’s theme for the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville Bowl for Kid’s Sake at the Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center. Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Sandra Brandon-Moss said this was a banner year for fundraising, and the organization collected around $52,000 for the event, with more donations expected to come in.
On Thursday, 30 teams participated in the Bankers Challenge, with 20 teams taking to the lanes on Sunday for the Community Bowl. For the Banker’s Challenge, F&M Bank won the award for most money raised with $13,000. Along with the Banker’s Challenge, there was a new contest this year for the Community Bowl called the First Responder’s Challenge, and Clarksville Fire Rescue took home the title with the most team points. Teams were given bowling pins adorned with rock ‘n’ roll art that kept with the Rock ‘n’ Bowl theme.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville is part of the nation’s oldest and largest youth mentoring organization. They serve youth by pairing them in safe, healthy one-to-one relationships that inspire them to do better, reach higher, and find their potential.
“We are very thankful for the support from the community, and we’ve had some generous donations by local businesses that go back into the work that we do which is mentoring children one-on-one. I can’t imagine how hard it is to be a child right now, growing up with social media and all of the issues they have to deal with at school. Having an extra safety net, someone who can mentor them and talk to them is really invaluable to their mental health,” Brandon-Moss said.
