CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Grab your mask and take a socially-distanced swing at the third annual BIG Birdie Ball Tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville. This year brings new challenges to golfers, mainly in the form of a partially redesigned course downtown, with two new holes.

In this special tournament, players used a Birdie Ball, which has a limited flight path and low ball speed causing it to bounce harmlessly off objects. Because of the design, players can hit the ball just like a normal golf ball, and then follow up with another shot just a few dozen yards away. The 9-hole course winds its way through Downtown Clarksville for the city’s only urban
golf tournament.

“Just as Big Brothers Big Sisters has found innovative ways to keep kids connected, we had to find creative ways to fundraise,” said BBBSC Board President Eric Norman, Vice President for
Student Affairs at Austin Peay State University. “This tournament and all those who take part are helping to support the growth and emotional well-being of children in Clarksville and
Montgomery County.”

Registration is open now for both the morning and the afternoon flight. Players can play at 9:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. Sponsors can still support the event as well. Sign ups and
more information on sponsorships can be found at www.bbbsclarksville.org/bigbirdieball or by contacting Chris Buerck at chris@bbbsclarksville.org or 931-647-1418.
