NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Nashville police are warning the public about the purchasing counterfeit tickets for this Sunday’s Titans vs. Cowboys game at LP Field.

Plainclothes Metro police officers will be on foot downtown and on streets near LP Field Sunday looking for individuals selling bogus tickets, according to a press release. Depending on the circumstances and the number of fake tickets on hand, those persons could be charged with felony criminal simulation.

Anyone in possession of a counterfeit ticket will not be allowed into the stadium. Persons who do purchase tickets from a secondary source are encouraged to ask the seller for identification and record all identifying information.

One particular scam that has occurred over the past year involved the sale of purportedly valid Ticketmaster tickets on 8 ½ x 11pieces of paper. The first valid sheet was printed from the Internet. The scammer then made a number of photocopies and illegally sold them as good tickets.
