Bettye entered this life on September 10, 1943, in Center Point, KY. To the late Clyde Moore and Robbie Milam Moore. She was a member of the Adams Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, James Watkins of 60 years (married July 8, 1963), son Chad (Carolyn) Watkins; granddaughter, Taylor (Matt) Chumley; great granddaughter Rowen Elise Chumley; brother, Follis (Brenda) Moore; sister, Alice Hays.
Bettye is preceded in death by her son, Chris Watkins who passed away in 1981 at the age of 17 and three brothers and three sisters.
Bettye loved watching pro football, working Sudoku puzzles, writing poems, and studying Bible History. She was a Beautician and a longtime member of The Tennessee Homemakers Club ” Potpourri”. Bettye was a graduate of Clarksville high School class of 1962.
Bettye is loved by many and missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Bro. Marvin Crouch officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4-8:00 P.M. and on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 8:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow directly after the service at Fairview Cemetery in Stewart County.
