Betty Louise Owens, age 78, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at St. Thomas Hospital West, in Nashville. She was born in Waland, KY, to the late Marion Layne and Dallis Layne Crisp. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Owens, and her brother, Billy Crisp.
Mrs. Owens attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for children, both generations of her own and those of friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Mandrell officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, February 7, and from noon until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
Betty is survived by her son, Ricky (Sandy) Owens, of Lake Mary, FL; three daughters, Clara (Anthony) Patterson, Debra (Gary) Puskas, and Patty (Vernon) Jarrett, all of Clarksville; sister, Ann (Martin) Combs, of Greenfield, IN; eight grandchildren, Chase Smith, Jeremy Puskas, Brittney (Brian) Spence, Jenna (Cass) Bongard, Hunter Jarrett, Kaylon Jarrett, Marlee Jarrett, Eric Owens; step grandson, Anthony (Misty) Patterson, Jr.; four great grandchildren, Sasha Puskas, Owen Smith, EllaChase Spence, and Jarrett Spence; and three step great grandchildren, Cody Oliver, Tayea Spence, and Anthony Patterson, III.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1324 Gholson Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.
