A Celebration of Life service for Betty Lou Sykes, age 85, of Clarksville, TN, will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband of 66 years, Lee Sykes. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Betty was born on June 30, 1937, in Montgomery County, TN to Claude and Gertrude Logan. Betty was a wonderful mother to her 4 children and had a hand in raising many others. She was involved in the community, leading programs such as the local Home Demonstration Club, 4-H, and Cub Scouts.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her siblings: Bill Logan, Gail Campbell, and Debbie Ferrell. She is survived by her children; David (Sandi) Sykes, Connie England, Phillip (Cindy) Sykes, and Linda (Franklin) Koellein; sister, Doris Jean Powers; 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
