Betty Jean Eads Allen, 86, of Springfield, TN, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at NHC Place of Springfield.
Betty was born on May 8, 1932, in Louisville, KY to the late Carter William Eads and Versa Hester Eads. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Mosteller Allen and son, John Carter Allen.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with The Rev. Dorothy Hartzog officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Betty was a Retired School Psychologist for Ft. Campbell School System. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She attained her Master’s Degree in Child Psychology from Austin Peay State University. She was the first Child Psychologist in the Ft. Campbell School system. She was an avid reader and history buff.
Betty is survived by two sons, Steve (Melinda) Allen of Springfield, TN and Paul (Jill) Allen of Clarksville, TN; sister-in-law, Sally Jackson Allen; six grandchildren, Megan (Brandon) Jenkins, Courtney (Jason) Wiesbrook, John Carter Allen Jr., Patrick Carter, Jennifer Johnson, and Kathleen Boston; six great grandchildren, Kennedy Jenkins, Briana Johnson, Corey Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Ella Wiesbrook, and Jackson Wiesbrook; and canine companion, Gracie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
